TOKYO (TR) – Actor and musician Pierre Taki, one half of the synth-pop duo Denki Groove, has been arrested over the alleged use of cocaine, reports Fuji News Network (Mar. 13).

On Tuesday, the Kanto Narcotics Control Department searched the Setagaya Ward residence of the 51-year-old Taki. No drugs were found, but a subsequent analysis of the urine of the musician provided a positive result for cocaine.

If you search for articles online, you'll find reports of police forcing people exiting targeted nightclubs for mandatory urine tests - both in Tokyo [ Roppongi ] as well as Seoul S Korea. A lot of accounts have just foreigners selected for testing with the natives allowed to go free - but sometimes they force everyone.

"Technically" if you had language skills, enough legal knowledge & time/patience, one could effectively thwart demands to produce identification, allow search of your person / personal effects and/or give them a sample of your urine ... but most people [ including Japanese ] lack all three criteria ... so they inevitably fuck it up, and end up giving the cops a reason to execute their demands by force. For example, starting with the least intrusive demand - the request for identification... if the subject starts getting irritated and inadvertently pushes away or pushes against a police officer, they'll declare "obstruction of official duties" or some other shit & use that as an excuse to pile on the hapless subject.

It's time/patience that gets me if they have me trapped.....while it is fucked and I point it out to them, it's not worth the time or effort to argue with them over a look at my ID or a look in my trunk. That being said, I have two driving recorders to remind them about if need be.

But I like this one....

Basically what I learned from those types of videos, and backed up by numerous other experiences I've read about, is if you can keep moving and declining their demands, they will eventually stop following you. As long as you don't break into a run, they can't use that against you as far as acting suspicious goes. One of the vids I saw, the cop was demanding to search a pulled over guys vehicle...he declined and drove (not sped) away. The cop didn't follow.
