BY TOKYO REPORTER STAFF ON MARCH 20, 2019

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 32-year-old male American national over the alleged stabbing of his wife at the Tokyo Family Court in Chiyoda Ward on Wednesday. The woman is in serious condition, police said, reports NHK (Mar. 20).

At just after 3:00 p.m., the man allegedly used a knife to slash the neck area of his wife, a 31-year-old Japanese national, on the first floor of the courthouse. The woman was transported to a hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, according to the Marunouchi Police Station.

The news reports say the Japanese wife's name is "Kyoko Wilson" so the American national's last name most likely is "Wilson" and his first name seems to be Jacob or his nickname, Jake.
ANN network news showed a video of the Hibiya police sitting on top of Wilson-ようぎしゃ who is wearing a creepy black surgical mask (proving the axiom, "Never trust a gaijin wearing a hypochondriac's face-mask).

 I don't like posting rumors, but Japanese sources are now posting photos of him

This is supposed to be some of the-rest-of-the-story on the stabbing: facebook.com/MyNameIsMicah... However, the photos of the guy don't look very "American" so maybe someone is taking a piss on the guy in the family's facebook photos.

Update:
laika_cat
Shaved head is throwing you off {Mr. Stabby looking old}. He looks 32/33 to me. I found his sister's Facebook and there's a photo of him with the wife and kid at a family gathering a year or two ago, and he looks about the age he should.
Mr-Stabby-and-company.jpg

This is definitely the guy. The guy's Facebook links to a Twitter account, where he made posts about the kid being missing and ID'd the wife as Kyoko Wilson.
Oddly enough, the sister lives in Nerima.

Quite a few Japanese news sources are falsely identifying Jacob Wilson as "Steven Wilson" who is a rock musician in Itabashi-ku.

Here are a few more photos of Mr. Stabby's capture:

The suspect’s father’s name is Steven... that might be one source of the error ...

The suspect is also tone deaf. Plus rather creepy choice for a song to teach his kid ... about child abuse:

I was wondering about what "triggered" the guy to go stabbity..seemed like many already assumed the wife did a runner with the kiddo. Sad outcome, nobody wants to see something like this happen....but seeing how much this is blowing up in the kaigai media, it adds some pressure for Japan to rethink their (lack of) enforcement to child custody orders.

Japanese woman fatally stabbed at court previously complained about 'unstable' husband | TokyoReporter

https://www.tokyoreporter.com/crime/jap ... e-husband/

TOKYO (TR) – A 31-year-old Japanese woman fatally stabbed at the Tokyo Family Court in Chiyoda Ward on Wednesday had previously complained to police about her “unstable” American husband, who was apprehended after the incident, it has been learned, reports Kyodo News (Mar. 20).

At just after 3:00 p.m., the man, 32, who has not yet been named, allegedly used a knife to slash the neck area of his wife — later identified as Japanese national Kyoko Wilson — on the first floor of the courthouse, located in the Kasumigaseki area .....

For all the reasons that couples separate or divorce, whether it includes abusive behavior ...emotional or physical by either party, unless one’s life is truly in danger, you’d think it’d be hard to justify a reason for someone to bring three butterfly knives and stab the shit of their spouse or former spouse. Yet there seem to be those online feel the differences in child custody laws and enforcement are somehow partial justification. They seem pretty much the same category as those “incel”-types that have a similar ethos about all women in general [ i.e. Elliott Rodger https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Isla_Vista_killings ] Sick and sad.

In his FB account and Twitter posts relating to his son’s whereabouts, he makes allegations that his wife was suffering from some kind of mental illness. If not a case of projection on his part, post-partum depression is both relatively common and also often undiagnosed... but if that were the case, it seems that instead of trying to be the supportive and understanding husband, he went berserk or psycho in his own way.

For anyone expecting kids, understanding the symptoms of post-partum depression might salvage a marriage.[ Calling TELL Lifeline saved one person’s life & marriage when it happened to her: https://telljp.com/lifeline/ ] Might now help much if you’re already a ticking time bomb psycho killer though....

There's no excuse or justification for what the guy did....even if he was dealing with the worst kind of evil spouse in the world and everything was stacked against him, it's murder and deprived his own child of both parents and a normal life.

I do, however, think that these types of highly emotional situations could be better managed with some honest enforcement and more balanced court decisions. There is no way to know if he would have done the same thing or worse with a more effective system but honest enforcement serves as a deterrent for Japanese to not run off with children in the first place and would put these "left behind" parents in a less hopeless/desperate situation. No guarantee it would have prevented this particular case but the current way things are handles breaks people so it's not hard to imagine a mental case like this might not have been triggered if he had more faith in the system.

TOKYO (TR) – A male American national in custody in connection with the stabbing death of his wife in Chiyoda Ward last month has been accused of murder, police said on Monday, reports TBS News (Apr. 15).

On March 20, Jacob Wilson, 32, allegedly used a knife to slash the neck area of Japanese national Kyoko Wilson on the first floor of the Tokyo Family Court. Kyoko, a resident of Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture, was later confirmed dead at a hospital due to loss of blood.

After the incident, Wilson fled the scene. Officers later apprehended him in nearby Hibiya Park on suspicion of attempted murder. At the time of his arrest, the suspect possessed three knives, police said previously.

32-year-old serviceman and the woman as his 44-year-old Japanese girlfriend.

In October, the spokesman said, police had responded to a domestic disturbance after Olivero reportedly broke items in Hindman’s home, but the incident was resolved after he agreed to compensate her for the damage.

In January, Hindman reported to U.S. military police that Olivero sexually assaulted her at her off-base home during a breakup, police said earlier.

Military authorities subsequently issued a protective order forbidding Olivero from contacting Hindman, said Marine Corps 1st Lt. David Mancilla in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service cooperated with an investigation by Okinawa police, who had jurisdiction in that case, according to the statement.

“Earlier this month, the Japanese Police closed their investigation due to lack of cooperation from the victim; however, [NCIS] continued with an active investigation into the alleged sexual assault,” Mancilla’s statement said. “At no time did the U.S. Military discourage the victim from talking with Japanese Police or filing an official complaint.”

A friend of the dead woman told the Okinawa Times newspaper Monday that Hindman called her child a “treasure” and was known as a cheerful, active person who enjoyed jogging and worked in the beauty industry.

“She often told people around her that she is very proud to raise her child by doing what she loves,” the friend said.

Hindman recently became frightened after Olivero — who was supposed to be about 18 ½ miles away at Camp Hansen — was spotted in her neighborhood, the friend told the newspaper.

Olivero had a history of breaking into Hindman’s home, the woman told the newspaper, saying he damaged items, confined Hindman and harassed her friends.

“Hindman tried to reach MPs to solve this issue but Olivero did not stop harassing her and she was stressed,” the friend said, according to the newspaper.

“I know there are many kind servicemembers and U.S. bases aren’t the issue here,” the woman told the newspaper. “This tragedy happened because MPs and the local police did not do their jobs. They took her problem too lightly … Why did they let the criminal out free?”

So basically either the victim or the Japanese authorities dropped the ball here...

Another Stripes article wrote that she declined local police urging to file charges as she believed the base authorities were handling the issue. Apparently she had not noticed how base authorities have handled issues here since they occupied the joint - a stern cautioning and admonitions to play nice. Funny how that never seems to work out.
