It is not fair if some people are dishonest and just buy a fake degree. They can displace someone in regards to finding work who has worked hard for years. People go through deprivations in their personal lives to do their study, and it is not fair if someone else steals their job through dishonesty.

Well the sort of job he wants to get dishonestly is one I want to do for a while, and I did the time and effort for my degree/s. Initially I felt really angry at the idea.kamome wrote:I understand where you're coming from, but what kind of job do you think this guy is going to steal? He just wants to work as an English teacher for a year. It's not like he's taking a lucrative job opportunity away from a highly educated guy with an advanced degree. Yeah, it is dishonest, but my reaction was to laugh, not to call him a "cocksucker".

they actually have to put forth some effort to get there and pass their classes. And there is a higher expectation on them to succeed. As opposed to someone who cant handle higher education at even the most basic levels to get a simple undergrad degree. Simply put, if you cannot meet the requirements on your own merits, you do not deserve to reach the goal. boohoo, some people have more money than others and are afforded opportunities that others are not. life isnt fair, stop pretending it is supposed to be :P

The difference is that the person in your example gets to be President of the United States.

Device null, I'm not saying they got IN do their families influence. I'm talking about they got a DEGREE to that same influence. To get in due to influence, I ain't mad a bit about that. (well, I am a bit, but anyway)
I'm talking about inept individuals who would not have graduated were it not due to the influence and money that their family held.

Great observation, Caustic! Classic, and ironic.
