100,000 yen handout should be ready by May: Aso
KYODO NEWS | 2020/Apr/17 - 15:05
Finance Minister Taro Aso said Friday the government's 100,000 yen ($930) per person handout should be ready by next month, stressing that a quick response is crucial in softening the economic fallout from the coronavirus outbreak...
...
Speaking at a regular press conference, Aso said that while everyone will be eligible to receive the 100,000 yen, they will still need to apply, unlike a similar scheme in 2009. The handout is expected to be provided to foreign residents as well as Japanese citizens.

It's touching that some here believe it will be a simple matter of applying.
For one, it aint for every foreign resident - only taxpayers and I can understand that.
IF we gaijin taxpayers actually get it - apparently all my and your taxpaying years in Japan which in my case add up to far more money given to the cunts in govt than on a larger salary in Oz to the govt there, don't mean shit to a lot of the rednecked Japanese here.

In fact that's why so many gaijin are actually living and working here - from useless North Am grads who had no job back home to people working in companies connected to business, we are helping prop up their system. Tell that to the J fuckers who continually question why we don't just pay up and expect nothing in return.

You watch - the application process will automatically shut out any gaijin who haven't paid juminzei or aren't up to date with it. Not that I have any problem with that - one of my mates showed me a vid with the reddreadlocked fuckwit on youtube cause my mate enjoys watching some of those losers for a laugh.

The bloke, American of course, showed a final notice bill from somewhere in Fukuoka for juminzei and says but, but, but I can't read the bills, they're hard to read, the writing looks like sticks or whatever he called it. He lives in Tokyo and had avoided paying his Fukuoka dues for some time. If they eliminate numpties like this from consideration for the money, it won't worry me. Maybe he will get his electricity cut off again like he did during a livestream, only to ask again with bewilderment why it happened. These numpties have a sense of entitlement they aint entitled to. And apparently he's lived in Japan for 10 years........

I don't remember having received anything in 2009.

I only remember to have been cut 10% in salary for two years from 2011 (ouch!), because of the 3/11 earthquake, as the country pays my salary.

I would've been fine with that if only they would've spent it on relieving the problems of people who were badly hit in Tohoku, but instead they spent it on frivolous things, like studying sea turtles in the south of Kyushu. What a fuckers!

In 2009, you got about 20,000 yen a month per family if my memory serves, supposedly to be spend on the kiddies. It was a great boon for eikaiwas as I recall.

Don't forget whaling down in the antarctic, essential bidness it seems. Oh course Tohoku is still pretty messed up.

So the country spends lots of money sending ships all the way to the Antarctic to get the very best research whale meat. Said meat is then stockpiled at further expense because the demand is really not there. Imagine my surprise to find this in a rural supermarket near me.

Thanks Mike, looks more straightforward than the IRS $1200 with a website that doesn't tell most expats anything about the status of their checks.
