When I say Huawei is dangerous I mean Huawei is dangerous.
They are a subrandom branch of the CCP. Britain decided to use them for 5G networking infrastructure.
That would mean that crucial communications could be disrupted by a candid bug during an automatic software update, maybe even at a timing where a crisis management would need these comm channels.
After if you phear that your concentration camp survivor hentai fanfic may be intercepted. That’s a different matter on a different scale. China would care about this for their citizen, but at internationnal level they seems to be dealing wholesale at country level.

Well, Huawei president states himself that any chinese military or intel member of the CCP has officially resigned first from their duties before joining Huawei.

The annoying bit is they really they do make great and very keenly priced products. I have been really happy with their phones. At less than half the price of an equivalent (and actually less powerful with google translate and such) iphone. Their top end cameras may even be a bit better than Apple. It may be that the thing is reporting back to Beijing but I doubt it because they would be wasting time and money. They might be able to turn it on in future. I'll bear that in mind if I get up to anything that may be of interest to them.

Allowing them to build the basic infrastructure? Allowing government people to have their phones for work? No way. We really need to forget about Brexit, Donald Trump and all the rest and work together on bringing Mr Xi's regime in China under some control. Russia won't join in of course but the rest of us need to get a grip and for that we need unity. America First won't do it. Britain First won't and nor will EU First. Luckily I didn't write this on my phone eh?

I don't think that that will ever happen, unfortunately. We are humans, i.e. powerhungry, greedy, aggressive, dangerous predators. That is, how we became the dominant species on this planet.

Make China/Russia/America/Europe weaker only means "I" get stronger. With stoopid idiots like Trump, this fact is just easier to see than with more educated idiots like Obama.

We will always piss on each other's heads just to get a little advantage and IMO this will never change, unless we genetically mutate into something better than the locust-plague that we are.
