...The Art Of Seduction, a survey of more than 6,000 men and women from 20 countries worldwide is a separate part of the Harlequin report and according to it money doesn't often buy love, unless you live in Japan.
Only 15 per cent of Canadians said money was the most seductive attribute. Looks was number one, at 65 per cent, but the Japanese, long respected for their spiritual pursuits, have apparently let things slip. Just over half the Japanese surveyed listed money as the most seductive attribute.

I'm willing to bet that money is a means value to an end value.

What do Japanese people FEEL so much when they get money? Or at least, what is the psychological attachment that the Japanese people have to getting cash?
And why the heck to they blatantly waste so much money in the first place?

I don't get it.

Yeah, "value to an end value" ... it's sentinel-controlled loop at Valentine's Day and beyond.

However, only some Japanese are wasting money and many are still cutting back for the SEVENTH straight year....

Japanese retail sales didn't grow in Dec.]BLOOMBERG / Thursday, Jan 29, 2004, Page 12
... Sales for all of last year at Japanese supermarkets, department stores, restaurants and other retailers fell 1.8 percent to ?128.4 trillion (US$1.21 trillion), the seventh year of decline, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said in Tokyo.
Japanese consumers are spending less because of declining wages and near-record unemployment ...
