I like that there is movement on the idea that temp checks and quick checks may allow for sporting venues to open to fans again but....

The sources said the cost of coronavirus countermeasures will be largely shouldered by the national government as they plan for visiting athletes, stakeholders and spectators.

Taro is right to keep calling out this money pit we're all paying for. Do you know anyone overseas that will come to Tokyo 2020 in 2021? Do the Japanese around you seem like they would attend given the current circumstances? Without some real creative thinking, this is going to be the worst Olympic flop eVar!!

Depending on how the situation around the world develops (third wave in sping?), it might as well be that some countries do the right thing and abstain from the olympics altogether this time in order to protect their folks and athletes. Even more so for the paralympics, methinx.

Nobody is aware but ALL paralympics training areas have been closed since March 2020 (unless you are a official member of a Japanese Olympic team), grrrrr.

Even me, an ex-Olympic wrestler has been banned from public and commercial facilities because I'm a paraplegic ...WTF!

It won't....though I am curious to see the 2020 equivalent of burning all the hanko'd paperwork to prevent an official number put on how much money was burned in this Olympic effort. (Imagine if only Ghosn just burned his pay stubs, he could have shoganai'd his way out of the compensation disclosure law...oh wait, he never even received those payments)
