....on the other hand, I just sat through nearly 3 hours of some sort of annual "Protect Japanese Culture" live show...of course the intro was full of nihonjinron and talk of how lucky we wareware nipponjin are to be born in Japan and able to appreciate Japanese culture. There was even some sort of scam book "written by a famous priest in Kyoto" that supposedly cured the announcer's breast cancer. (WTF??)

Now, apparently I wasn't aware boy bands, 80's Engrish pop, and swing dancing were Japanese culture....but then I really found myself struggling to watch 2 sluts in Kimonos hop around like toddlers with fox masks and fans. The traditional taiko and instruments were great but get old after one song. No need for 5 that sound identical...and modern solos...by every fucking drummer. I was only there for a friend who is in this "Real Samurai" group and part of the main performance. I really had to bite my tongue when I saw her after the show...besides the shit before it, her group was some really terribly choreographed, and boring, low level fake "sword fighting."
