[/floatr]The question is posed in a headline on ZakZak (Japanese) after an employee at a hotel in Seoul captured video footage of figure skater Mao Asada checking into a Jeonju hotel before competing in the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. It was then posted on a website and two clips have made it to YouTube (although the versions there require you to accept a friend request). Korean media reports picked up the story and confirmed that the employee went on to show Asada to her room. The hotel has issued an apology, saying that the videos were not malicious but will take steps to make sure such an occurrence doesn't happen again. This relatively minor incident is given an extra edge because Korean World Champion skater Kim Yu-na is seen as the major rival to Japanese skaters at the upcoming Vancouver Olympics. The Japanese media and public is especially sensitive to how Japanese skaters are received in Korea because there have been accusations on both sides of ill-will. Asada was assigned a security team while in the country but there were no reports that anyone attempted to accost her.
