This makes them intrigued because another female has obviously thought 'this guy is worth my attention, so what's the fuss about'. Attention brings more attention in this game.

Besides, many women like the challenge to see if they can get the attention of a man who is 'taken', therefore taking him from another woman (at least testing whether this theoretically possible at the very least, brings satisfaction to many women).

But like it or not there is a group of women, little as it may be, like to flirt and hit on men who are taken. Here comes my theory:

In my experience with Japanese women anyway, a lot of them get excited about the thought of "taming" a guy so that she can use him all for herself. Seduction is primarily a female thing here.... and guys are (by their rules) supposed to be able to buckle from a few feminine flirts of attention... should her guy getting skills be good enough.

As a guy, making yourself too easy to get (by being too nice to the woman, asking her out) is boring to a lot of women here. A lot of them like to enjoy trying to hunt a guy when the guy isn't really all that interested, or isn't making attempts to get them.

Of course, if you're a normal guy like I am, these rules suck... so what you have to do is put yourself in a situation where you give the women a window of opportunity to show you what she can bring to the table.... reversing the situation around, and letting her walk into the trap of her own creation.... all the while letting her think that she's seducing you, and leading you astray.

You start out being friendly (if the woman is a beeyatch.... reinforce "Let's just be friends"), and being married or having a girlfriend helps you here.
Then just kick back and evaluate her, and get a feel for who she is and if you still want her ... letting her jabber on about herself a bit. Then, after a few minutes if you think she's tried hard enough you say something like...
"You know... I don't really know why but, I kinda feel like seeing you again. Does that make sense or not? I mean, just as friends and all, but you seem pretty interesting...."
This works as opposed to "I want to take you out on a date!" because the former implies that for some strange reason... you are being forced against your will and SHE is somehow seducing and mind controlling you and leading the process, and you are confused... just a little at first....
Japanese women (generally speaking of course) don't really understand the concept of letting the man lead too well.

(And if you're wondering.... yes I've been in Japan too long, I have a Japanese girlfriend (or two), and I've thought about all this WAAAY too much)

First of all GiGi, I didn't lump all women together, a smart guy can't afford to do that.

Second, stop being so defensive about all this and you will learn some valuable information. Better to realise how guys (young horny guys anyway) are thinking, than to to just not like it, and then pretend 'it's not really this way' and then try and contruct some other alternate fantasy about how you want it to be, and then believe that fantasy (this is how lefties think about many issues, and it brings them undone ).
