Big stuff

There's more than just Godzilla in Tokyo Bay...

It's there for the same reason there is a replica of the Eiffel Tower in the center of Tokyo.

It's in Odaiba, right next to the mall that's across from the Fuji TV building.

Oh, and it's really small.

The world's third Statue of Liberty is set to be officially unveiled in Tokyo.

She is four times smaller than the 46m (150 feet) New York original, but bigger than her other sister in Paris, according to reports.

Located behind the futuristic headquarters of Fuji Television Network, she faces the Rainbow Bridge over Tokyo Bay.

[...]

But it is not the first time Japan has had a Statue of Liberty - Paris loaned her version to Tokyo in 1998 to celebrate France Year, an event to showcase French culture.

Reports say she has also long been a popular decoration on the rooftops of Japan's so-called love hotels - the gaudy motels offering rooms by the hour.

Believe the Pongi! He may be a joker but love hotels use Lady Libertine as their mascot.:P
Here's one I drive past every time I go to Osaka in the "American Town".

Here's another shot. Note the number of overhead wires and Japan street "decorations".

hey frost,
here's a video that i took in odaiba while hangin' out with miss yamazaki. it was a fun day - starting off with a driverless train ride. lady liberty definitely makes a cameo!

there is a wacky indoor amusement park called "joyopois" there. we went on the "blair witch" ride - so miss y would grab on! :D

i've got some choice video of that place i'll post later. for now, here's a stroll around the decks shopping mall, the barbie store, and some other quick shots.

Ahem.

Samba de Amigo is not the Macarena. Maracas != macarena.

That's a great site and a great shot of Lady Lib (but she looks a lot smaller in person than the photo).
