"You could talk about same-sex marriage, but people who have been married (say) 'It's the same sex all the time.'" Robin Williams, on what he'd say if he were the show's host.

"Another great movie this year was `Lost in Translation.' This is, yes, a lovely movie. This is Gov. Schwarzenegger's favorite film." -- Crystal.

Director Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" makes a clean sweep winning in every category for which the film was nominated.

It's a sad year for film. Fuck this Harry Potter bullshit.

I don't mind that ROTK got the Oscar. It really was a toss up for best picture. It was LiT, ROTK or Pirates of the Carribean

HAHAHAHA!!!! San Queue Berry Muchyu Big Booger-san! You are too kind. Personally, I think little three-year-old MO KIN (aka 'Ri Higgin') deserved at least a nomination for best actress in a musical or comedy.

Cheers!

Lob :spin:

wouldn't that be a grand day for the Ponginator.. I mean at the Oscars, dancing cheek to cheek with the uppity ups of the 5 star upper class elitists.. :D You'd have to plug FG on E! :D

That film was a let down. Its not the expat experience or even the tourist experience by any stretch of the imagination. Who does sofia think she is Jarmusch or Goddard? Slow piece of tripe as far as I am concerned...

It wasn't meant to be. Are you sure you saw the same movie as the rest of us?

IMHO Bill Murray was robbed !!!!

Anyone who watched the Oscars and replayed the announcement of Penn winning could just see it written clearly on Murray's face - Murray knew he had been screwed without KY!

Murray showed no emotion - no joy (for Penn winning), no sadness (for hime losing), just a stunned deer in the headlights. He was a sure bet - yet somehow he was passed over. Every media outlet on the planet felt he was going to take Oscar home last night!

The only reason Penn won was because of his vocal anti-war stance...

I seriously doubt that this was the case.

But I agree that LiT was a fantastic movie, and that was in no small part due to Bill Murray's performance.

Sean Penn played a fine roll in Mystic River. At the end, what he had to face up to.. knowing all along. The mysery of losing a child, and then thinking one of your friends did it.. then getting it all twisted up and around.. and then finding out the truth..

But what about Ken Watanabe, does anyone feel he was robbed by Tim Robbins as best supporting actor?

Rob Pongi wrote:Yeah, many were very surprised to see that Mr. Bill Murray did not win for best actor. Its just so obvious, that they screwed this up and they'll have to give him a lifetime achievement Oscar to try to 'make up' for this. What a terrible joke.

Maybe they'll give it to him for his voice work as Garfield.

Bill, some things just aren't worth the money....
