Request for English teachers in Japan

Postby pete » Thu Mar 18, 2004 6:51 am

Seeing as this is my first post, I'll start with a small introduction. My name is Pete. I'm a college student in North Carolina, somewhere in my 3rd year (I think). Even though I've read a bunch of ELTinJapan horror stories, I still have a vague interest in doing this. That's my masochist side showing, I guess.

For a technical writing class I'm taking, I've been assigned to write a report on particular occupation. Specifically, how writing is related to that occupation. I've chosen to do my report on English language teaching in Japan. The reasons for this are twofold: firstly, I have an interest in going into this occupation after i graduate. Secondly, I have to interview someone currently in the field, and being that anyone in the field is also in Japan, it would be impossible to do a face to face interview. Which means an electronic interview won't make me look like a slackass.

So if you've gone this far in the post and would like to help me out by letting me interview you, PM me or email me at shawnkling@earthlink.net. Basically, the interview be pretty short and mainly cover these topics:

Preparation prior to getting job
How writing is important to your job
Advice to those looking to get into this profession, specifically regarding writing skills and requirements

Thanks in advance,
Pete

check out this web-site, might help you out a bit. http://www.letsjapan.org/
Receptionist: How do you write women so well?
Melvin Udall: Easy. I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability.
