C ME P ON PC (rant)

Postby GuyJean » Fri Mar 19, 2004 9:21 am

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!.. I f*cking HATE PCs!!

I just spent 2 hours trying, unsuccessfully I might add, to burn a simple f*cking CD on a Video Toaster!.. I guess I'm spoiled by my insert-blank-CD/press-1-button/burn-new-CD-Mac.

Why does it have to be so f*cking difficult? It's a computer, fer fucksake; how hard should burning a CD be on a turnkey, 3Ghz, 2GB RAM, HP box o shit?!

OK.. Feeling better... Give me Mac and smile anyday..

Ya'll can keep your crates o' silicon freezin', IT job securin', Windows oligopilizin' world.

Please, don't even bother helping me troubleshoot. I'm out of time, and one PC should not waste the precious time of 5 men.. or women.

Back to work-offing.

GJ

(PS.. There are SOME things I like about PCs; don't get me wrong.. I just can't think of any right now)

Where does your cat work?

Dude, I have no idea why it's not working.. I've tried 3 different programs.. nada. Two different PCs... 4 different disks.. etc, etc, etc, etc..

No worries; I just loaded the huge file on a shared drive; the fuckers can wait for their lame ass photos to transfer..

You seem to be suffering a sever case of "PC Rage".

Now, before you freak out, have a nice lie down on the couch and tell the doctor all your problems.........

Who? Norton?

I'm better now. I think Apple has destroyed my perception of how things should work..

How to guide above...

What type of file are you trying to burn?

bring back the amiga version!

Don't you have a TiBook? Couldn't you just burn the CD there? If not--perhaps it's time to get one. They are SO freakin' handy!

GuyJean wrote:Why does it have to be so f*cking difficult? It's a computer, fer fucksake]

I like them for playing games and for surfing. That's about all I like 'em for. Pretty good with 3D software too. Not bad for Photoshop and AE too.

I'm with you brotha'!

Now that was hilarious!

[quote="GuyJean"](PS.. There are SOME things I like about PCs]

the only thing i like is that they're cheaper to buy.
if you're an idiot like me, they suck to maintain.

Keep in mind--Cupertino is my home town. Been huffin' 'Tino fumes a long time!

I can do that task in ONE click! heh heh!

My cat sends me emails to my phone when I stay at work too long!! (am not kidding I have the evidence to proove it!!)

Funnily enough, she uses the free email accounts at Hello Kitty Web-page

BTW I don't have one of these accounts myself, but our own gomichild says it is a great service for free email accounts - lots of storage space and no spam.. hhmm I wonder if it is gomichild who is really sending the emails? :?

Thanks for helping calm me down.. and for all the information.. Still doesn't work, BTW.

There must be something wrong with the hardware..

Tried cocksucking Roxie, shit-eating Nero, and pool-o-piss CD Wizard.. Nothing..

My Macs at home; where all the real work is done..

Thanks again, guys. Don't worry about trying to help anymore.. It's a lost cause.

Well, there's your problem right there. I've never had any issues with my external QPS Que-Fire drive, which is just a Plextor CD-RW in a firewire enclosure.

Thought about asking the company to buy you one? It's portable both Mac and Windows, and it just works. Can be found for less than $200.

Yup.

Looks like it.. It's similar to your screen shot.

Well, that probably means no. So, it could definitely be a fundamental hardware problem. Defective drive, bad cable, wrong jumper, etc.

Wasn't that my guess 2 pages ago?

Sorry, it's hard to guess what a Mac-head would and wouldn't think to check on a Windows system. :P

Ask CSTaylor about the stupid Windows mistakes I have made recently..

But then I have never claimed to have any coding skills.

Admittedly not all my fault - my windows machine seems to munge text file attachments for reasons known only to itself. But it takes an age to figure out why something is not broken.

oh and P.S. Don't run a shell script on a wireless device with an active WAN connected to your MAC network because you will do horrible things to your server and scare the shit out of yourself!!
