It's because of all the funky flavors. The US only gets the regular, boring ones. I've never seen the Cheese and Onion ones outside of Korea though. (Those are damned tasty. Pity that I've given up Pringles in the quest for a smaller gut. :( )

And now if you buy two cans, you can get free Pringles keitai charm (at 7-11, possibly at other places too):

Plain, Ridged, Sour Cream and Onion, Pizza-licious, Cheez-ums.. Those are the regular flavors.

Asia gets interesting stuff like: Pizza Margarita, German Bacon, Mexican Tacos, Spanish Salsa, Crispy Curry, Spicy Consomme, Cheese and Onion, Grilled Shrimp and Pepper...

Because MSG is addictive

MSG is added to food because of its addictive qualities, it is nicotine for food. It is highly reactive in the human brain and other organs.

CS, is that why they invented bukkake? :bukkake:

On a serious note: The states, at least Oklahoma, has cheese and onion pringles. And mighty tasty they are too! Pizza-lisicious blows huge chunks though. But we get none of those other flavors you mentioned. Land of opportunity my ass!

Now, if that isn't Communism, I don't know what is."

Because Japan are the world's only successful Communists.

Pringles were invented to kill all the small batch, regional chip manufacturers.

Key points via http://www.geography.ccsu.edu/harmonj/atlas/potchips.htm
[quote]...Because of the perishability and fragility of the final product, most potato chips are produced very close to the place of consumption

...Potatoes will tolerate long distance shipment and considerable storage time but the fresher the raw potato product, the better the chip.

... regional manufacturers to "take advantage of purely local opportunities offered by regional variations in taste" (Snack Food Association 1987, 285).

...Proctor and Gamble company of Cincinnati, OH, (Pringles) .. decided to take the technology for producing soap and apply it to potato chips, or something like them. Create a slurry, press it, bake it, wrap it and market it]

No my friends, Pringle's = Globalisation!

And thanks whoever for the addition to my post above! (and here I thought it would be considered just tacky!) ;)

Ah, I can now clearly see the dreaded scheme of Soviet Supreme. Communism must be on the rise since SS must be in cahoots with Frito Lay! 8O
