Japanese girls living abroad

Postby Jack » Fri Mar 26, 2004 9:44 pm

There are many young Japanese girls in Canada either studying or on working holidays. Someone on a forum in Vancouver noticed that J-girls almost always seem to go out with losers that is either low life people or unemployed and broke guys. When I looked at the circle of friends I had, I had never noticed it but this guy's assessment is so right. I have never knwon one of these girls going out with a professional, or a businessman, or a doctor or something.

The way I could explain this is that many of the girls here don't have much money so they always hang out in the cheap bars or on the streets window shopping where they are most likely to encounter the looser kind of guys.

Okay, flame away.

You're explanation is so insightful that no further comment is needed.

I think it could be more down to loser guys deliberately targeting J-girls. They figure out J-girls are friendly and receptive, which they are. Big hurdle gone.

Also the cross cultural factor of people not knowing what is and isn't a loser in each other's cultures etc. I read about this factor in people not knowing what is and isn't considered attractive etc too. :?:

eg. I met a J-girl in Australia recently. She looks good to me, but I don't know if she would be considered attractive in Japan-but I don't care about that factor.

Was she wearing a burqa? She would have hell to pay if an upstanding young Muslim like yourself caught her without one.

I think I saw that in a Morning Musume video a few years back. Burqas seem so much freer than kimonos. Japanese should switch, and I'm glad Morning Musume is leading the way.

Well yeah, I'm not saying I actually saw her face.......

I just knew that she was wearing the finest threaded shroud I have seen this side of Al 'Aqabah, so what was underneath must have been slammin', inshallah (PBUH)....... 8O :crazy3:

I was in J-town San Francisco with my wife (then girlfriend) and noticed this guy in a plaid polyester shirt giving his best goober impression.
He happened to be putting on this show for what i thought was a fine example of a young Jgirl.
In a reflexive move, i blurted out 'what's she doing with him?'
She looked over to see what i was talking about and said 'she's a geek.'
In a more well thought out move, i thought to myself 'damn, if this is an example of the pocket protector wearing conservatives, i'm in the wrong country...'
poop!

Sorry Jack old friend, you have fallen foul of a rather obscure adjunct to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

Japanese girls are observed only hanging out in cheap bars because the observer himself only hangs out in cheap bars. :D

Sorry Stevie, I do not generally hang out in bars. I used to pickup the J-girls in Japanese restaurants. Now that I am married, I find it darn hard to resist the urge of picking up the chicks on working holiday. But my wife is wonderful...

The only bars I hang out is where they allow cigar smoking because that is the only reason I go to a bar.

Let's LOOSER

Postby mr. sparkle » Sat Mar 27, 2004 8:20 am

Hey Jack,

Jack wrote:There are many young Japanese girls in Canada either studying or on working holidays. "Let's" LOOSER!

The spelling is L O S E R - I should know, I was the school spelling bee champ. That makes me KING of the Losers! Losers are definitely the best spellers! Looser is what I prefer a tourist gal to be.

Anyhoo, this observation sounds like it's comin' from a typical "young dude". These scared little boys just want to see the market cornered on J-Girls and are jealous of the F.O.D. (fucked old dude). We're smooth, charmingly geeky, been studying Japanese waaay longer and we gots the moves. Who needs money when ya got your own crash pad and exude "thrift shop chic"!?

I dunno what the gals are like in your 'hood, but have you ever heard:

San Francisco--where the weather is cold and the women are colder!

Perhaps Vancouver also shares this problem??? Me thinks so! All west coast girls are not so charming or friendly--and certainly NOT feminine anymore. Tourist Gals are the only elixer to calm my nerves! They actually enjoy having FUN. Fun is the focus - not my car or bank account. Fun-Loving tourist girls are in abundance in my 'hood. What average guy (LOSER) wouldn't want to chat up these cuties?

Livin' in a tourist town as I do--I do see lotsa lost looking tourist girlies wandering around North Beach every freakin' day. Given the opportunity, it's fun to play tsua guido (I actually help lost tourists of all types, to be honest). If you kick it in with a little Nihongo, and turn on the charm, you can at least have an enjoyable afternoon walking around--and maybe a date at night.

Why avoid the local ladies? I don't. I try to engage them, but they're a freakin' drag. You say, "Hi!" and even someone who is in your league will look down or scowl at you. Forget that!

Rarely, do you meet a really cool local here in SF. The average dude (AKA "The Loser") in SF has a rather tough time meeting the high expectations (job, looks, $$, property, car, bling bling) of even an average looking or relatively intelligent SF gal these days.

Oh well...that's what happens when your city has the rep as the land of fruits and nuts - sounds great - but not many hook it up 'cuz they are too locked into their own preferred brand of fruit or nut regardless of your "orientation". Now that seems odd, but it's really true. I hope it's not true everywhere, because this reason alone makes me want to get the hell outta here (I just may soon, too!)

So that dude that you see is ME. I'm fat, broke and I like J-girls, german girls, french girls, brazillian girls. It's not a big deal! No different between that and 90% of us. It's OK, I'm a proud loser/geek (which some would call that being a social outcast, non-conformist, visual artist or punk) - and I see J-gals in the street and rap with 'em. I don't care what anyone thinks of me. Any opinion ain't ever gonna stop me from chatting up cute foreign gals in the street.

So, it's all good. If you see a dude like me in the street and go, "what's she doing with him?" Don't jump to conclusions. He's probably a pretty cool dude like you or me!

That being said, I do think that there is a particular kind of guy that focuses his whole existence and "preys" only on Japanese tourists. Day after day, you see the same guy doing the same thing. His day off? Yup, he's heading to J-town. After work? he's down at the wharf. He's lookin' for it, hunting it down- that's his whole_life! If you have an opinion--just feel sorry for the guy. He hasn't learned about life. He will though...

If that's the type of guy you are talking about - I agree - it's a little weird. These types of guys eventually move to Japan - become young dudes - then FGs, reach P O N G I and then find out it's not worth it - move home and marry a local gal.

Jack is the kinda' guy who thinks every girl is hitting on him. I know a lot, as in many, Japanese students and they are fine young people, so fuck you Jack. You bring this same tired argument up every month, you see what you want to see.

Jack, aren't you married to a J-girl? What are you saying about your self? Are you finally admitting to being a low-life too? *gasp*

I am surprised that nobody picked up on this before...
