customs for toilet-seats

Hi,

I found a special present for my fathers 50th birthday - a high-tech toilet-seat ! Now I got the problem of getting it to him (He lives in Germany). Do I have to pay customs/taxes? In case I have to, how much (I paid 65.000 Yen for the thing)? What is the best way to send it back?

You don't have to pay duty on gifts, at least I don't think so..

I mean you paid sales tax already right?

But label the package as a gift just to be certain.

Just a word of warning.. Japanese toilet seats are a different size/shape to western toilets.. not that much different.. but if you have bought the huge bidet/dryer combo ones they should be OK.

OK how do I know this completely obscure fact? Buy me a beer and I will tell you sometime.
