hi. i'm looking to travel to japan for a week or so. can anyone suggest some cheap and clean private lodging for 2 people (not a couple, so i'd need 2 twin beds) in tokyo?

what's your budget? what kind of spot do you want? frills or no?

sorry, i should have clarified that.
i'm not sure about the budget, mainly because i don't know what is reasonable.
i'm not looking for anything fancy-just a clean room with two beds, a clean bathroom, and maybe a tv. location is somewhat important. this is a sightseeing trip so i guess i'd like to be in one of the major districts (shinjuku, etc) and within short walking distance of a subway/JR station.
unless anyone thinks it would be better to do otherwise...

Well, even if you're not from Arkansas you can still check one out with your sister. Just find a really bizarre one, split the cost with her, order some takeout and have a very strange picnic. Take lots of pics of the room and think of the story you'll have to tell!

But if that's not your thing, I'll toss out my favortite cheap stay in Tokyo, the Taito Ryokan in Asakusa. 3,000 yen/night (per person) and they do have some two-person rooms - but you'd need to request one. No private bath or TV in your room, but it's a nice, cosy place to crash. I stayed there during my first trip to Tokyo and would use them again, if I didn't keep finding friends to stay with on all the trips I'm taking nowadays.
