Thanks.

How's this for really off topic (but on a similar vein as above)?:

One and two.

DJEB,
After reading your posts, one arrives at the conclusion that you would do well to take the advice of the Sage of Ferney.

Nothing wrong?

Article 11 of the Constitution of Japan:
The people shall not be prevented from enjoying any of the fundamental human rights. These fundamental human rights guaranteed to the people by this Constitution shall be conferred upon the people of this and future generations as eternal and inviolate rights.

Article 13 of the Constitution of Japan:
All of the people shall be respected as individuals. Their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness shall, to the extent that it does not interfere with the public welfare, be the supreme consideration in legislation and in other governmental affairs.

Article 19 of the Constitution of Japan:
Freedom of thought and conscience shall not be violated.

Article 21 of the Constitution of Japan:
Freedom of assembly and association as well as speech, press and all other forms of expression are guaranteed. 2) No censorship shall be maintained, nor shall the secrecy of any means of communication be violated.

These are not totally unfamiliar ideas to the people of the United States:

Amendment I to the Constitution of the United States of America:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof]Amendment V to the Constitution of the United States of America:[/b]

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Nor are they totally unfamiliar ideas to most peoples of the planet:

Article 2 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights:

Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

Article 3 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights:

Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

Article 19 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights:

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Article 20 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights:

(1) Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.

You want to assault him and the woman next to him? Assault is illegal in Japan. Go for it. Enjoy your chobatsu.

I'll ignore for now that "protest[ing] behind a veil of security that [one] never had to pay for in the first place to be able to protest" is an arbitrary requirement that has no basis in law and cannot be lived up to by the majority of the planet. However, you are protesting their opposition to the war (perhaps for the language they used, but this is irrelevant) yet you never had to "pay" for their security. Under your system, you ought to kill yourself... There's a word for people that hold one standard for themselves and a lesser standard for themselves, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it is right now.

Dingobaby, do do share your hatred with all the world's religions, or just Islam?

That constitution wouldn't be worth the paper it was printed on had the US not defeated Japan. Japanese would all be bowing down to an emperor they'd think is a god.... he'd be like 120 or something now....

Japan would have continued its imperial conquest to dominate the world, and that would be that.

So don't come to me with some waddy waddy about a constitution, that
I wouldn't kill them... I'd just smack them around a bit with a large trout.

So let's take a look at what a "Japanese Constitution" Would have looked like without WWII going in favor of the US:

Today this is what you'd be posting, if indeed the internet would be allowed..

We, the Successor to the prosperous Throne of Our Predecessors, do humbly and solemnly swear to the Imperial Founder of Our House and to Our other Imperial Ancestors that, in pursuance of a great policy co-extensive with the Heavens and with the Earth, We shall maintain and secure from decline the ancient form of government.

Article 1. The Empire of Japan shall be reigned over and governed by a line of Emperors unbroken for ages eternal.

Article 2. The Imperial Throne shall be succeeded to by Imperial male descendants, according to the provisions of the Imperial House Law.

Article 3. The Emperor is sacred and inviolable.

Article 4. The Emperor is the head of the Empire, combining in Himself the rights of sovereignty, and exercises them, according to the provisions of the present Constitution.

Article 5. The Emperor exercises the legislative power with the consent of the Imperial Diet.

Article 6. The Emperor gives sanction to laws, and orders them to be promulgated and executed.

Article 7. The Emperor convokes the Imperial Diet, opens, closes, and prorogues it, and dissolves the House of Representatives.

Article 8. The Emperor, in consequence of an urgent necessity to maintain public safety or to avert public calamities, issues, when the Imperial Diet is not sitting, Imperial ordinances in the place of law.

Article 11. The Emperor has the supreme command of the Army and Navy.

Article 12. The Emperor determines the organization and peace standing of the Army and Navy.

Article 13. The Emperor declares war, makes peace, and concludes treaties.

Article 14. The Emperor declares a state of siege.
(2) The conditions and effects of a state of siege shall be determined by law.

Continued

So you see DJEB, they are indeed naive and haven't had to pay for that wonderful constitution you quoted so eloquently.... They in essence, don't have any of those rights... at least not in my view.

As for paying, the thing is I am willing to pay.. They are not. I am a registered draftee for the US military.. been registered since I was 18 years old. That is the difference between them and myself.

They haven't nor will they ever have to pay for any right given to them by a constitution that was changed after WWII.

AFTER WWII changes to J-Const.

Big changes there bud... sorry to say, but those changes came at a price to many lives.

You ask any Japanese kid today and I am sure the overwhelming majority are anti-war even if it meant sacrificing the freedoms and liberties given to them by their own constitution... guaranteed.

Oops. Missed one.

Alcazar wrote:DJEB, your persistent anti-Israeli stance is pathetic.

Persistent, eh? Here's what you can't do, so you won't: Provide some evidence for your claim. Where have I ever been "anti-Israel", let alone persistently so?

Or how about some evidence that I am guilty of your other accusations? Here's to not seeing that which cannot be produced.

(I love the weekends: 'Get to run-amok, outside of "Beyond fucked!", boom, boom, boom......) 8O  Image

Just a point:
DJEB, why are you giving conflicting messages?

Citing the US constitution: WTF? You're fine with wishing for the destruction of the US, but you'll claim protection under it's laws.......

Don't the terrorists also do that when caught? 'Where iz dee pruuuf?'.

And what's with citing UN 'law'? :) All those pieces of paper and humming photocopiers didn't and couldn't prevent the Rwandan Genocide or the fall of Saddam Hussein.......

Also, do you agree with the anti-American 'protesters' that the 'US dogs' should be 'kicked out of Fallujah'?

Did you make their sign for them? It's a bit sus....... :?:

This will warm the hearts of the "US dogs" sign carriers:

The Israelis thought they had assissinated Sheik Yassim of Hamas, but in reality they sent him to Paradise. Here he his with some of his 72 virgins. Allahu Ackbar!

Who'da thunk it? al Cazar not providing evidence for past claim then making further claims without evidence.
