Have you tried eBay at all? I tend to find so very nice stuff on there at times. You should check that place out. Good luck though on your searches and findings.

I have bought a few old movie posters that are on my wall and awaiting framing. Very campy both with Ken Takakura in the early days, one with a geisha holding a gun and the other with a Japanese girl who looks like she is the Japanese equivalent of 99 in "Get Smart" - short bob, severe 60's suit.. I think she is holding a gun too. Anyway, these are not reproductions, but still have the holes from where they were pinned to the cinema wall.

Are you in Tokyo?

Anyway, I bought them from the Togo Shrine markets. They were not cheap. I have never seen them in a store but I am sure they would have one. Next time I go there, I will see if they have a card or can sell on line. There were hundreds to choose from but they were all different. Prices were from Y2,000 - Y50,000. Full sized as well as smaller ones.

There is one that I wanted that seemed to be a movie about lesbian buddhist nuns - grey habits and shaved heads... Damn I love old B-grade films.

p.s. I need to find a good framer in Tokyo - for these posters and a few other pieces that I have collected.. I have found one store but it is hideously expensive. I don't trust Tokyu Hands.

Being a fan of yakuza movies (http://www.jingai.com/yakuza/ )
I had to go out and buy a bunch of Takakura Ken posters on Ebay. I didn't pay more than about $10/poster + about $10 to ship from Japan, but I'm cheap and those prices are on the low end. Posters normally go for $20-40 US in good condition + shipping.

Yahoo auctions in Japan seems cheaper, but I think US Ebay is more reliable and is a lot easier if you don't live in Japan.
Next I'll have to get some Watari Testuya posters.

Broadway in Nakano is a very good source for posters of any kind. I've found amazing posters back there, and the prices are reasonable, they even sell subway commercial posters.
Damn i should create an account on ebay and begin to sell those stuff if there's an interest.

hey. i am in england... yeh i look on ebay and have seen some stuff on there... i never know the best search criteria though... it seems sellers in the east often dont know how to fully decribe items so theyll be found more easily... i have a few ghibli posters ... framed etc... have a dario argento 'suspiria' poster cos i also like italian horror and the design for japan is superb...

i have found this : http://www.applet-j.com/shop%20joe/index2.htm

and : httph://citaya.org

and : http://jmshop.net/flyer.html

...they all also sell on ebay... but none of them has a large selection of original fullsize posters... but if you look here :

http://club.nokia.co.jp/tokyoq/index.html

..theres a couple of places in tokyo etc described here (pic included) which say posters are cheap and easy to pick up (if you live nearby!)...
