Yeah, I remember reading about bendable screens/diodes a while back. There was a good article 1 Jul 03 in the Japan Times and one here http://www.computing.co.uk/Analysis/1141858 about Sony's Computer Science Labs http://www.csl.sony.co.jp/ and Interaction Labs http://www.csl.sony.co.jp/IL/. As I recall, Sony is still working on Gummi:
