I always heard from my small-school shacho friends that teachers were like hostesses and should not be "giving away" English injections for free. In addition, after "flings" housewives and other students feel awkward and stop coming to class. Note that gay teachers (perhaps more than 30% of those with more than 3 years experience) say Japan is the happy hunting ground of the universe.

I can help.
Clearly, this is an ancient and traditional Japanese custom which dates back at least to the fall of the Shogunate when Japanese were forbidden to have contact with foreigners and foreigners could be simply cut down in the street. Or perhaps it goes back to the 1500s when Portuguese missionaries became too successful and had to be killed or expelled to preserve Japanese culture. Given that Japanese culture hasn't changed in 400 years (it's stagnant and backwards, right?) it makes perfect sense why English teachers must be kept apart from the general population.

My solution: the Japanese Army should identify a number of "fallen women" to enroll in Eikaiwa classes and offer to the English teachers. This would protect the purity of the rest of the Japanese and create jobs and boost consumer spending.

Although it seems unfair to limit who people can have social interactions with, this policy certainly isn't limited to NOVA or ECC.

As I high school teacher I am not allowed to interact socially with my students (especially the female ones), and as a bartender in a hostess bar I wasn't allowed to interact socially with my fellow staff unless the mama went with us. It's too bad, but those f'ed gaijin knew the drill when they took the job.
