Sim Sex Not So Scintillating
WIRED / 02:00 AM Jun. 07, 2004 PT...these sims -- also known as bishojo (Japanese for "pretty girl") games -- the balance between tedium and delight is firmly tilted toward boredom.
Adult-themed or hentai (Japanese for "pervert") games are said to account for over 25 percent of all Japanese software, but they have been slower to catch on in the United States. Las Vegas-based gCollections and Japan's J-List import bishojo games, aiming to penetrate an enormous American market potential. The United States versions retail for $35 to $50 and have the added benefit of being sexually explicit and uncensored, unlike Japanese releases that use mosaic blur-out.

Wired? BAH!

If you want real reviews of bishojo and hentail games, head on over to Something Awful's Hentai Game Reviews section. It's a great resource, complete with candid commentary and screenshots, showing you exactly what you're getting (or not) with some of these titles. Games are rated from 0 (tolerable) to -50 (sins against man, technology and the universe itself). The "best" game ever reviewed got a -17.

Three have scored a "perfect" -50.
