was it sodai or moeru?
:D

It seems the garbage dumpling makers are suing:

http://joongangdaily.joins.com/200406/13/200406132339509509900090409041.html

Forty-four dumpling makers here sued the government yesterday for financial losses stemming from the spoiled dumpling scandal, accusing the government of misleading the public about their products.
The food producers asked for a total of 270 million won ($230,000) in compensation from the government, saying, "The government's inappropriate response to the dumpling case caused us huge losses."
They said the government's press release, which said 80 percent of the domestic dumpling producers used contaminated pickled radish, caused dumpling sales to fall sharply at all dumpling makers, even those who never used the tainted ingredients.

Certainly they should be held accountable. I won't eat any dumplings for a while, unless they are homemade.

Why can't American businessmen do this when their companies get investigated for wrongdoing? Kenneth Lay, Bill Gates, Dick Cheney....

Actually, he most likely committed suicide over the his debts and lawsuits, not over the shame. It was avoidance, not honor.

Just wondering:
Is Korea like Japan in that life insurance pays out for a suicide? Does committing suicide in Korea effectively blocks all lawsuits against heirs as it does in Japan?
