"Hornets From Hell" - 30 Hornets Vs 30,000 Bees.

Postby Failsafe » Thu Jun 10, 2004 9:14 pm

Watch 30 Vespa mandarinia or Asian Giant Hornets destroy a hive of bees.

It's kind of sad really but amazing stuff to watch.

Wow- that was a true battle. Those hornets fly like attack helicopters, hovering and then swooping down, and are absolutely brutal! Parts of it felt like Private Ryan with the poor bees getting cut down before they knew what hit them.
I wonder how they filmed it.

I was wondering the same thing. Did they just happen to be filming the right hive at the right time, and just managed to catch the attack?

I suspect it was all set up, with the first hornet being placed on the hive so it could tell the rest which hive to attack. How else would they have known to get cameras set up in as many different places as they did?
More caustic. Less saint.

I use spray adhesive, it's a glue made by 3M in an aerosol can. It stops them suckers in mid flight it's. One minute the wasp/bee is acting all badass, the next minute he's stuck to the wall wondering why his wings don't work.
