Cars slam into woman, leave her for dead

NIIZA, Saitama -- A woman has died after she jumped from the back of a speeding car Saturday morning and several other vehicles slammed into her, police said.

At least three and probably four cars smashed into the 27-year-old woman, but each of the vehicles continued speeding along the Kanetsu Expressway as though nothing had happened

...and it's in Saitama too... watch out Crispy!

I agree, but I'm glad it was a natural reaction for those people to try to avoid hitting people with their car no matter how selfish they are being.

It's not the hitting part that I was worried about... it was the running part after they hit her. How hard is it to pull over and call the cops?

You can never know the full story.

Remember couple of months back. Almost same thing. Woman found dead by side of expressway. Obviously hit by car or cars. At first blush suicide then later turns out she was abducted and was desperately trying to escape by jumping out of the car.

I suppose if you are a woman in an abduction situation (which seems to be in the news a lot lately) jumping from a moving car into fast traffic might seem like the only alternative because the odds on the pert letting you go unharmed are definitely not good.

Now fact is we all know that in Japan if you are driving down the highway and some woman suddenly leaps in your way and you *do* happen to hit her for whatever reason, your going to be in deep shit. Arrest and trial almost a certainty. Scandal and loss of job probable. Vast sums of money used up paying lawyers and the aggrieved family.

I would imagine your first thought would be to get the hell out of there.
