It's good to see "I, Robot" FINALLY make it into the light of day since it has been "on hold" as movie for DECADES since it was written in the 1940s. Oddly "I, Robot" forms the basic ground rules of present day ASIMO robots]The Three Laws of Robotics:
1.A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human to come to harm.
2.A robot must obey orders given to him by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3.A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.[/quote]

Too bad they didn't actually make a movie based on Asimov's work. They've got the title and the three laws, and that's where the similarities end.

Does anybody know which screenplay they are *REALLY* using? The Ellison one was written in the 80s.

Caustic Saint is absolutely right. The screenplay for _I, Robot_ actually comes from a typical Hollywood-ish script entitled _Hardwired_ that was written in 1995 by Jeff Vintar.

Yeah, it hit me pretty hard too when I first heard about it.
