The only thing I finding in English is the same old AFP article. I saaume if the lawsuit of the male 3rd part for the women who was raped ever gets to court, there will be real coverage.

Yeah. Last night I was using the multiple split-screen feature on my TV and was watching all the news programs at the same time. I recorded the channels I couldn't watch.

Not a word on regular TV or cable (and certainly not NHK).

Most likely, the woman or women in question signed a non-disclosure agreement with her or their cash settlement so I won't be holding my breath on this.

May just call TV asahi and ask why they did not show or make any mention of the incident. Will ask them if they have been leaned on not to show it.

It's not on TV because it's not a story. I hereby announce that Michael Jordan killed fifty ten-year-olds. Now are you gonna start a thread about why it's not on the news?

You are wrong here.
Koizumi admitted on TV in the diet deliberation that he was being sued over a case that involves his moral fitness to be prime minister. Koizumi even mentioned that the case makes mention of two alleged rape incidents and claims that he was actually arrested for these incidents.
This is a REAL case, that is being taken up by the REAL courts in REAL Tokyo and has just had its second REAL hearing today!
This thread is questioning why the above fact has not been reported, it is not questioning whether Koizumi did or did not commit it. Your comparison to you yourself making fictitious claims about Michael Jordan and asking if I am going to start a thread about it is not valid and holds little water to say the least.

So it is only a story if he is convicted? I do see your point in a way as too much unrelated and usually unconfirmed mud-slinging happens when public figures are concerned.

That said... if there is enough evidence then this is a story.

Ok, I'll ask again; wasn't it the tabloids that investigated which politicians hadn't paid their pensions? Strange how that became a 'real' story, as you put it, only after the tabloids broke it..

The Japanese media is nothing but a government megaphone. The tabloids, on the other hand, are the only ones with enough balls to challenge the wa.. And FG is here to bang the wa.

Are there any rules as to when and how many posts people can make on this board?
If you would like to explain yourself, I am sure people including myself are willing to listen and reply to you, if you allow it!
Most of the posts are in reply to questions asked about the original post or additional information concerning the thread, as indeed this post is a reply to your vague and unfounded comment.

So I guess America's prisons aren't full of criminals, just the "indiscreet?" Crime is crime and there's no two ways about it.

If you're putting smoking pot and rape on the same level...god help us! There are such things as immoral laws, you know.

No, I'm saying neither one should be considered an "indiscretion."

At present they are both illegal in a lot of the world. If you find a law immoral, work to change it. Note: Doing drugs is not "working to change the system." It's getting high/stoned/wasted/etc.

There are no rules about when and how often people can post here. But putting all your energy into one topic (nearly half the posts in this topic are from you) in sudh a short timeframe is likely to get you pegged as a quack. (Not to be confused with a Duck, mind you.)

My comment was meant to be vauge but wasn't unfounded, as it's 100% accurate. You're trying to "call out" somebody who's a long-time member of the board -
Obviously AssKissinger isn't replying because he can't without disproving his own claims of "Bullshit".
- for not responding to you right away? Sorry, but some people have better things to do than reload the same topic over and over to see if there's something new to reply to.

Secret Hanashi

Postby Marvin Feltcher » Tue Jun 15, 2004 10:56 pm

A couple of weeks ago, a certain news site didn't run the story about a certain prince critizing a certain agency and shit hit the fan, primarily because the foreign media had picked up the story.
Yesterday, a certain news site didn't run the story about the prime minister's rape allegations. When a certain somebody, who was off when the news broke, threw a huge tantrum blasting all concerned for failing to notice and run the story -- widely covered in the foreign media -- he was greeted with silence.
When that certain somebody's tantrum reached proportions rivalled only by those of his 3-year-old daughter, the certain somebody was told that "Japanese don't like to read stories like this. It's not real news."
A check of the Japanese version of the site's most popular stories at that very moment showed the top story was about a train molester. When a certain somebody pointed this out, he was informed, "Yeah, but stories about politicians need to be serious news, not mere allegations."
The certain somebody was then told in no uncertain terms to end the matter as "the story is already old news." The certain somebody will be choosing news this Sunday. Hopefully this story won't be too old for a decent follow-up, something the certain site excels at with more than 50 percent of its stories mere upates of earlier articles.
P.S. Sorry for the Japanese-style reporting that deliberately fails to mention the names of the main protaganists of the story

All of yall acting like Koizumi could possibly be guilty and that this is newsworthy are being fucktards. When rumours reach the point of being slanderous they endanger the well-being of this board. When you post BULLSHIT about a good man like Koizumi and pretend it's fact you're setting the board up for a lawsiut (which has already shut down Get Hiroshima). And you newbies accusing me of slinking off...whatever. It often takes a few hours if not days to reply. Hold your horses, hotheads.
