Relying on the tabs as a source of honest journalism is at best an extremely dubious proposition. While they have broken a number of scandals in recent years the just as often have produced stories which have not been supported by any evidence. Tits and mah jog are there business. :P

The court case seems to be one in which it is only a matter of time before they dismiss it, as I really doubt that after 35 years that they have any evidence. The motivation of the person starting the suit, shortly before the upper house elections, has to be at very least, scrutinized.

In answer to your question though, I think it was the shock, horror and total disbelief I saw in Koizumi's face when he was asked about it in the diet.
I also believe Koizumi is a very dangerous man who is attempting to take politics here in Japan back to its old militaristic ways.
He may look a LITTLE less like the LDP lizard men of the past and can fool your average Japanese apathetic voter however, if you look carefully you can see his forked tongue.

I used to like Koizume, too. But what has he REALLY done in the past 4 years? Privatized the post?.. Did that improve people's lives? Suicides increased, the pension system is defunct (in part, directlry because of him), salaries decreased, fed Lil' Kim Japanese rice, constitution thrown out the window, and Japan's citizens chose, and are choosing, more hospitable countries to live.

At the beginning, I thought he was good for Japanese pride. But now, I think he's just another attack dog in the LDP. Notice how other party's members are mysteriously 'investigated' by AK's loved press-monkeys, while any criticism of the LDP is never followed up?
