From the Financial Times magazine (sorry, can't find a link). In a book review...

" One section discusses the habit of saying "cheese" for a photograph, and notes the equivalent in other languages. Finns say "muikku" (a fish); Swedes "omelett" and Japanese "whisky". Cecil Beaton preferred "lesbian". "

Hmmm...not sure how they managed to grasp so firmly to the wrong end of that stick.

What do you think these folks were spouting when having their mug shots taken?

My bet is that #3 wasn't squealing 'whisky' right before some FG passed by and lopped off those protruding digits.

Yeah, only old Japanese people who think they're pro photographers use "Whisky". Nobody under the age of 40 would say that.
