Sun Micro, Fujitsu to Merge Server Businesses

After the bell Tuesday, Sun Microsystems (SUNW:Nasdaq) announced it will merge its server line with that of Japan's Fujitsu by the middle of 2006, in a bid to control research and development costs ... the strategic link-up with Fujitsu should relieve Sun customers who were rattled when the company canceled development on its next generation of processor technology a couple of months ago.
