The foundation says the increase is spurred by casual attitudes toward sex among young people as well as misconceptions about the risks. Prejudice against AIDS suffers also discourages many young people from getting tested for the virus, it says.

So kids are completely ignorant about how it is transmitted, and are prejudiced against it? That seems like a contradiction, if people don't want to get shunned, they should find how to not get the disease...
