Yeah, they originated here....the only difference is that in Japan they're marketed as 'white-trash charms' (which is fuggin hilarious!!) and in America they're probably just called 'charms' or 'fashion charms' etc. It's generally unsaid, but the only people who would actually buy these are white-trash, black-trash, yellow-trash, whatever-trash; so we don't label it as _____-trash charms.....

Kick-ass topic, man!! It's funny as hell!!

Maybe we could start our own brand in Japan-- trailer honky (tm). Just like they do in the trendy second-hand stores at Harajuku, we could ship old-torn-stained-t-shirts and other assorted clothes over to Japan by the ton, strap a brand new 'trailer honky' tag on it and sell them for upwards of 5,000-yen each!!

Trailer Honky--It's the newest RAGE in AMERICA!!! Kakoiiiiiii~~!!

Ooh, I like this idea. I wonder if I can sell my used (Levi's) jeans over there for ten times what I paid for them?

The question isn't whether or not you'll be able to sell them, but to whom and for what price. You've gotta decide whether or not any friends you have made will be pissed that you didn't sell the pants to them; and when you decide you'd feel better completely ripping off someone you don't know, you need to think of food for the month....I'm sure you could get a killing for your worn Levi's. A year ago they were going for over 100usd a pair.

Bathing Ape

Postby Ataru » Thu Aug 08, 2002 3:08 pm

Just a line of clothing that started a few years ago. Has some ties with the music scene, and is crazy popular with the kids. I've been wanting to get some BAPE clothes for awhile now.

White Trash; and Proud.

Postby GuyJean » Thu Aug 08, 2002 5:18 pm

Long live White Trash!

During my university daze, I slept on my friend's couch in his single-wide. The $50 rent allowed me to pay for college and escape without debt. Thank you, Evergreen Trailer Park!.. (And was it ever-green).

I met some interesting individuals; Some funny, some psycho, some chemically unbalanced... but all my friends.

I remember playing one of those sex board games. The one's where you roll the dice, move your game piece, and do what the square says.. or draw a card. (like Monopoly) I was the elected 'reader of the cards', because... well.. I could.. I'll never forget it. Oh, the good ol' days.

I think white trash started becoming popular after Kid Rock's debut.

I've noticed 'wife beaters' are coming around too. (T-shirts with the sleaves cut off). I saw them being sold at Gap for 1500 yen.

Hey, should I be offended when people of color call me 'white trash'?

It depends on the situational context....and if you consider yourself white trash or not.

Are sex board games sold in stores?? And I'm missing why you were the reader of the cards.....hrmmm.

I guess it's ok for me, or my fellow trailer parkers to call me white trash, but if I heard a So Cal trust-funder use it to slander my people, I'd gut him like a pig and make him squeel his last breath. (Ok, so I wouldn't. But only fellow White Trash can use the W.T. word)

Um, yeah. You might have to show your ID at the door though. I can't remember the name of the game.. Some have dice that, instead of black dots, have parts of the body written on each side that must be kissed, or fondled.

Because I COULD read.

Because I COULD read.

I see the light!!

And I feel what you're saying about being called white trash, too....I think that even if a person who might be considered white-trash called me white trash, I'd probably be very offended and want to "gut him like a pig and make him squeel his last breath." Unless I've established a friendly relationship with a person, that type of joking (or name-calling, however you wanna put it) is really outta line.

Hey--there's nothing wrong as being classified as "white trash." Any white person with a sense of humor can laugh it off.

Trailer parks...wearing wife-beaters with grease stains on 'em...that's America baby! More places than not, that's what it's all about...
MMMMHMMMM....This IS a tasty burger!
