Gmail Pop3 Proggie

Postby Big Booger » Sat Jul 03, 2004 11:42 pm

Pop3 for GMail

Gmail POP3 converter. 0.9

PGtGM sits between you GMail account and your email client, converting messages from the web based mailbox into POP3 messages that a program such as Outlook Express or Firebird can understand.

POP3 server now fully works. You are able to download gmail emails through any email client. SMTP server appears to work.

Please post any bugs you find in the login process to the thread, or problems displaying messages.

Cheers BB,
but dosent using POP3 to download your emails to your PC defeat the purpose of having a 1GB online storage capacity?
Does POP3 just redirect the emails, or copy and forward them on?

Questions

Postby Cubed » Sun Jul 04, 2004 6:30 pm

That's a nice looking little tool. Is it yours? Did you write it? Why not GPL it on sourceforge and get other people involved to make it better.

Is it written in VB.NET or C#? I could help tweaking it if needed as I'm very familiar with web.mail namespaces in C#. Does it deal with attachments?

I'm sure the good Mr cstaylor might have something to say about it being written in .NET and not Java too ... :ninja4:
