Japan's kindergartens could serve families better
Procreation just ain't what it used to be.
The Japan Times: July 15, 2004
Last month, the Japanese government announced that the nation's birthrate fell in 2003 to an all-time low of 1.29. ... Here in Tokyo, the birthrate is just 0.9978...
...visit my friend Keiko,...My casual [birthrate] remark set off a furious tirade about how she couldn't find a yochien (kindergarten) for her daughter.
"I tried every kindergarten within reasonable commuting distance but couldn't get her in anywhere!" she complained. "There simply aren't enough spaces, particularly for 3-year-olds....
.... When those three yochien [kindergartens for 3-year-olds] close, parents will have no choice but to travel farther to another public kindergarten or pay big money for a private kindergarten.
Of course, they might just choose not to have children.

Exactly. I have the same problem right now for a 2 year old.

And big money it is. I don't have that much to give to some Japanese kindy teacher who know jack shit about teaching kids FG kids stuff. Neither do I but at least I the parent.
Would someone please get the keys from that dog and let the pirates out?

I got news for everyone who thinks declining population is a problem: The real problem is overpopulation. Who's gonna care for the elderly? Nobody, because after the earth's resources are depeted we'll all be dead.

a furious tirade about how she couldn't find a yochien (kindergarten) for her daughter.

Fuck, I hate these Goddamn disgusting breeders. If you can't care for your own kid then don't have one. Please, don't have one. Please.

I know you love them really "ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET? ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET?"

can actually be condensed for Japanese kids to "MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA? MADA?"

Aneeway. I think the problem is not overpopulation. It's tax.

Hmmmm. One of the great illusions in the UK when I was a young'un was that there was this "National Pot Of Savings For a Rainy Day". In the 1980s, the gubberment admitted something along the lines of "weeell we spent that as soon as we got our paws on it, in about 1961. So sorry, there's no money and we can't give you a pension (I'm alright though, as I'm a civil servant)."

Problem is, I don't think any other country has such a pot of money either. So the current taxpayers are paying for the current pensioners. Hand to mouth as it were.

Hence if the had stops giving, the mouth stops eating.

And that's why more screaming kids are needed. Either that or you need to work double the hours.

I understand that ,Cubed, but at some point they're going to have to realize that overpopulation is a bigger problem than one group of fucked pensioners. I'm putting away for my own retirement and I think any longterm FG is insane to trust nanken. And don't think that just because you've been a good corporate cocksucker for years and years the ol' company will care for you. That'll just make it more fun for them when they ram it up your ass. Also, I figure my excessive meat and alcohol consumption will help kill me early. Unless any of yall wanna be fucked old homeless gaijin I suggest you do the same.

Cut to the chase

Postby kurohinge1 » Fri Jul 16, 2004 9:05 am

Yes, Cubed, AK, your both right but let's cut to the chase. It's been touched on before (Back to work you old slackers!). We need to find uses for these old slackers or retire them (in the "Logan's Run" sense but with a higher age limit)

Of course, to fund our own cosy lives as elders, we will need to reverse that policy after about 20 years by ensuring on overabundance of tax-paying cash cows to replenish the facilities to care for our substance-abused bodies and minds. So, you need to encourage breeding.

Is that too much to ask?

Didn't the movies already find a use for old slackers? Only 18 more years until we get our soylent green. Yummmmm.

IMDB wrote:in 2022, the world is overcrowded and food is an unbelievable fortune (a small jar of strawberry jam costs $150).

Heh, isn't that pretty close to what fruit currently costs in Japan?

Hell, why don't we just encourage FG's to breed with the locals here in Japan, but leave all the offspring here? That would solve the declining population in Japan and alleviate the overpopulation in every other country (not to mention add to the fun of living in the land o' concrete*)!
