I'm sure FG's "Duck" doesn't come so cheaply but that exchange rate means a local haircut costs about 65 yen ! :jawdrop:

50 kuai.... sure, it's only like $6 in reality, but it feels more like somewhere around $25 with it's spending power here

I'm of two minds on this one - fair enough, the original source is Waiwai and I've never been to Shanghai, but 50 kuai sounds a little cheap. A regular haircut (had mine done a few days ago) runs about 8 kuai tops, at least for men. Besides, most places catering to Japanese like I've seen in Dalian and here usually have higher prices (ahh, the gaijin tax) than you'd usually find.

That said, 50 kuai is a pretty decent sum for a minute's work :wink: .

here on campus, you can get a normal haircut for like 4 kuai... but it doesnt matter what you tell them you want, you either get the standard chinese haircut, or a mohawk if the guy is being an ass that day. so far, i have not had to venture into that unknown

That said, 50 kuai is a pretty decent sum for a minute's work :wink: .
