Western, Japanese women buy companionship in Bali

Not realli interested in the above, but I suppose what is good for one is good for the other. What I am after is an article I read in the Japan Times a few weeks ago (I think) about western women going to Bali and I think other places and paying young men to be their companions while there. I tried a search online but had no success.
If anyone could point me in the right direction then that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, can't help you with any links. My old JET gal-pal went to Bali, and brought back a bunch of pics of her hanging out with groups of handsome, shirtless island boys...she was not un-attractive herself, so I'm sure she didn't pay or anything, but she was a bit fuzzy on the details of what actually went down there...

TBS ran a programme about Japanese girls buying boys in Bali back in 1998. It was almost an exact copy of a programme 10 years earlier about Japanese girls buying sex in Hawaii, Guam & Saipan. Sorry, can't help you with the JT link.

Shukan Gendai was not able to obtain a similar endorsement from a Japanese user. It did find a local travel agent, who told them that in the lobby of a major tourist hotel these days, you can see operators waiting with photo albums full of pictures of young Korean men, waiting to sell their services to Japanese women.

That is a rather old well known racket.

It even happens in Japan. All those guys in Shibuya talking to those girls...

but contrary to what you may believe the girls dont pay outright/upfront.
You got to weasel the money out of them later.
