Hipster is here

Postby Hipster » Thu Jul 29, 2004 10:07 pm

Hello Fg's, I'm Hipster and I'll be posting here sometimes. I've been in Japan and out and back in again and out again. I love it and then hate it and then love it again. I'll be back for sure but until then I've decided to drink more and post stuff on this site at odd times.

WHAT UP F.G.'s

Postby VampireHeatwave » Tue Aug 03, 2004 2:37 pm

Hey...Just introducing myself. Im V-Heatwave and Ive been following this board for about a year. Its where I get all the latest news from Japan. Though I do not live in Japan, my rock band played in Tokyo in October 2003. The experience changed my life. I was only there for 8 days, but I had what you might call a 'mystical experience' or something equally cheezy. I dont know...

Anyhow, just saying hi...finally had the balls to register and accept my Gaijin-by-proxyhood.

Cheers,

Yo, Hi, from the islands in the south, it is hotter than hell this year, so if you love the beach and sun, come on down.

Great Site, been living here for a number of years now and had never seen it before. (Must be blind)

Quick Hi

Postby tatsujin » Wed Sep 01, 2004 9:01 pm

Hi guys,

Just wanted to say a quick hi to everyone. A bit of background - I am 24 and living in the ever-rainy Cork, Ireland. I have been crazy about everything Japanese since about 9 when I started Karate (Karate Kid has a lot to answer for). I started learning the language last year and have even gotten the obligatory japanese girlfriend!

I am off over to there in November for a months holiday so I am slowly getting into gear. This forum seems like one of the few honest and straightforward sites that have people who have lived the experience, so I'll look forward to chatting with you all - hopefully I can contribute now and then, however I am only a humble baka na gaijin :D

Thanks for your time

OK, I don't feel I've been a FG long enough to flame karate loving anime gobbling newbies so I defer to whoever would like to step in...

However maybe I should introduce myself before throwing insults around.

As for 'living the experience'...it's just the same 9-5 shit as elsewhere, but with more flashing, whizzing, noisy consumer novelties to keep you distracted from the fact you're just another brick in the wall. Don't get me wrong, I like it 'n all, but knowing how to buy a beer does not a deep insight make.

That said, I hope Japan lives up to your expectations. Yokoso.
