I don't know about you, but "yech!" is all I have to say to that. (I mean, guys, would you feel comfortable about sharing a wife with seven other men?)
That might not be a problem unless I was "lawn-mower husband" 8O

Uh, you'd think polygamist screenings would be mandatory for any exchange program in Utah. And how could any family hide the fact that there are multiple wives married to the same guy? Jeez, what an embarrassing screw-up.

It`s not like they don`t have polygamy here. Look at all the Japanese guys with their mistresses.

It's not polygamy until you put the stamp of marriage on it, is it? Japan is all about blatant extramarital relations; in Utah, it's the same thing but under the guise of "holy matrimony".

I've heard about emotional abuse as well by host families perpetrated against Japanese exchange students. Horrible.

Yeah, I always wondered...

...why anyone would agree to take on exchange students anyway... seems like an awful responsibility. 8O

And you might end up with an asshole. When I was 12 my family played host for a 17 year old Swiss guy. I'd never thought it would be possible to be slapped on the back of the head when I wasn't looking as much as that kid managed. Also, every once in a while someone I knew would come up to me; every time the convesation was exactly the same:

person I knew: "hey, do you know a Swiss guy named Yessin?"
me: "Yeah, he's staying with my family."
person: "He's kind of an asshole, huh?"
me: "yeah."

Anyway, the point is, never trust the Swiss.
