Powell is a wanker just like the rest of the US cabinet.
The US should keep their sick ideas to themselves and not try to force them on others. That said, the looney Koizumi cabinet is just lookiing for an excuse to renounce article 9 of the constitution.

The sad fact is is that Powell was quite a big glimmer of hope (?of sanity?) in Dubya's cabinet. He sadly became W's lapdog not only to many people in the US, but to many abroad as well.

The US wants Japan's Self Defense Force more heavily involved in military matters abroad. Hmm. Personally, I think the US wants a hardballer in East Asia to ameliorate North Korea's threats. Just like I think part of the administration's (unstated) motivation for invading Iraq was to establish a strong military presence in the Middle East to counterweigh Iran (and Iran's burgeoning nuke program).
