AppleExpo Paris is only 15 days away, but the only new G5 gear to be shown there is the redesigned iMac. (Unless Jobs has something else cooking, of course.)

I don't really know anything, so Caustic's guess is as good as mine. I do know that the new iMacs are overdue though.

I did hear the G5 PB will take awhile because of the heat problem. Perhaps that's why they are trying out the liquid cooling system on the G5 2.5 gHz dualies.

Maybe MacWorld SF? Again, it's pure speculation.

Apple Motion in the Ginza House!

Postby mr. sparkle » Mon Aug 16, 2004 8:26 pm

I am picking up my NFR of Motion tomorrow, so I will be demoing a few features of it at my seminar on Wed. night.

I believe that it will be the first public showing of Motion here in Asia. :D

ThinkSecret has a good writeup on what's expected in the G5 iMac.

It is a motion graphics program that totally rocks. By version 3 it should kill the need for Adobe After Effects.

Has anyone ever been to Ginga Kogen Ale house in Ginza?
It is at 2-18-12 in Ginza. I could not find a map.

If not, I would like to go to Popeye Ale house in Ryogoku.

See ya soon!

But my friends got a bit hungry and so we went for some chinese.

I tried to ring both Taro and Rob Pongi to hook up for a beverage later but..

1. Taro - have you got another new phone number?
2. Rob Pongi wasn't answering his phone. (Yes Rob that was me who you hung up on!!)

Yeah, how did you like my attempt at audience participation?

Dead Silence! 8O

If you do not double click on your clip before trying to adjust an effect, you will be very confused...

GG, you have passed the test for FCP 101. :D

It was a tough crowd I will admit but T.I.J. People are not really into participation. *

Your sprinkling of Japanese was awesome and got a few chuckles.

But you are a great speaker Mr Sparkle. I was well impressed!!

BTW Your translator was sensational!!

mr. sparkle wrote:GG, you have passed the test for FCP 101. :D

Yay!!

Actually I was quite impressed about how easy the whole thing was to do. But as expected from Mac software it was logical and easy to navigate. Pity I have no creative talent whatsoever. :P

* speaking of participation, a few years ago I went to J-Mens in Roppongi for a friends Hen's night. J-Mens is a male strip club. There was about 15 loud and drinking foreign girls up the back, clapping, cheering and whistling. The very polite Japanese girls sitting in the front row clapped their hands politely and giggled discretely and demurely behind their hands and tried not to blush when the buff boys in thongs gave them a lap dances...

So Mr Sparkle, I know you were fully clothed (st least while I was there), but you did have the audience chuckling occassionally.

Video geeks are the same way.
I do have a way of forcing my will though. Soon the "Legions of Sparkle" will be shouting back at me. It's really the only way I can see if people are understanding me or not.

GomiGirl wrote:Your sprinkling of Japanese was awesome and got a few chuckles.

Cool! I had that idea ahead of time to break the ice with the crowd. I think they warmed up to me, the "LOS" (Legions of Sparkle) were awaiting me outside the front door of the Apple Store. They wanted MORE. The Kwaaazy Carpenter from Chiba that was dragging his G5 around Ginza was cracking me up the most...

GomiGirl wrote:But you are a great speaker Mr Sparkle. I was well impressed!!

That is a very nice compliment, THANK you GG! :)

GomiGirl wrote:BTW Your translator was sensational!!

I had a feeling he was too. I want to hook up with that guy again, so I am getting his email address today from the higher ups.

GomiGirl wrote:Actually I was quite impressed about how easy the whole thing was to do. But as expected from Mac software it was logical and easy to navigate. Pity I have no creative talent whatsoever. :P

It's so easy, even Rob Pongi can do it!
Just kiddin' Robbie.

Gomi! Gomi! GoooooMI!

Wish I was there to do some grindin'! Now that would be a sight.

You mean you missed the "Grand Finale"? 8O

GomiGirl wrote:but you did have the audience chuckling occassionally.

Then Mission Accomplished!

I will be near Roppongi tonight and at the Pink Cow tomorrow. Hope to meet a few more of ya'll before I go back home early next week.

Cheers!
