Out of Shampoo and CONFUSED

GEESH Louize

I go to the drug store to buy shampoo and there are so many types of everykind of shampoo a-doo-doo I was lost perplexed and walked out empty handed.
I showered w/o washing my hair today

There are so many different shampoos types

 SHAMPOO - I know this one
 CONDITIONER - I should know this one too.
 RINSE - what does this do that conditioner does not do???
 MOISTURIZER - isnt this what either CONDITIONER or RINSE does?
 GLOSS-UP - its obvious what this does... but isnt this what CONDITIONER does???
 HAIR TREATMENT - do I really need this????

I wanted some gel too but couldnt even get through the shampoo.

The assortment is crazy here. Usually I buy in the states and bring it back w/me. Either that or I buy on the base with a friend. But recently the fragrances of Japanese Shampoo has attracted me into a maze of confusion.

What do you guys use?
And does anyone know the order which the above should be used?

Bleh. Most of the shampoo popular with Japanese people wrecks my lovely and soft hair. I have to pay extra to get the gaijin-friendly Pantene shampoo/conditioner (which my wife says wrecks her hair).

Costco Japan carries gaijin-friendly shampoos.

If there isn't a Costco near you --- order Costco items online from
http://www.TheFlyingPig.com for a very reasonable service charge.

In Japanese, Mrs. GridReaper read about here:

What, am I the only one who shampoos his own (and others' if given the chance) netherregions? Scented shampoos and conditioners can be a pleasant surprise for your partner(s)

Costco is a lifesaver. My Japanese-Costco card causes a few problems in America since it on a separate system from the US stores. So, every Costco run requires a manager to approve my purchases.

Remember to say BEFOREHAND to the clerk, "it's Code 13, just like a Mexican Costco card."

Costco Mexico is be far the best UPSCALE place to shop there. In the US, the clerks all know how to handle a Costco Mexico card and the entry code is the same as a Costco Japan card.

Agreed, Big Booger. Body soap cleans hair just as well as shampoo.
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

We used whatever was on sale... or in desperate moments (because in Japan you MUST wash your hair everyday... she says) we'd use whatever the local convenience store sold.
Lux was fine. I think we also used Biore.... maybe just body wash. Cheap non-distinct stuff worked just as well but didn't have as mauch lathering agent in them.

On the plus some relatives of mine were amazed that so many Japanese people have shiny hair... I was amazed they even noticed as I hadn't. Now in North America a lot of salons are offering "Japanese" hair treatments (ultra-straightening).

Go to Matsumoto Kiyoshi and buy one big purple bottle of Vidal Sassoon and another big purple bottle of Vidal Sassoon conditioner. That's all you need, and it is better than most of the other stuff I've tried.

There are a few other rumours about pantene...

Pantene shampoo contains an additive that when injected will get the user high
According to news reports coming out of northern Britain, kids have been stealing bottles of Pantene Pro V, believing the product contains additives that will induce hallucinations.
...A spokesman for Procter and Gamble (Pantene's producer) said: "There is nothing in the shampoo that could cause any sort of hallucinogenic or psychotropic effect."
"Injecting shampoo into your veins is an extremely dangerous thing to do. We can only urge people not to."

Actually Pantene is pretty crappy with good marketing. It basically coats each hair with silicon shit that builds up over time (It won't happen overnight but it will happen) and then when you want to have your hair coloured, they have to strip off all the silicone to get the colour to actually penetrate the hair shaft.

If you colour your hair (or think you want to colour your hair at some stage) don't use this shit. If you have split ends or damaged hair, the only way to solve this is to HAVE A DECENT HAIRCUT REGULARLY. Or better yet shave it all off and start again..

At first, I thought my wife was crazy to buy this expensive shampoo but now I really believe it's slowing down my male pattern baldness.
