NAGOYA -- Former Home Affairs Minister Kanju Sato was slapped Thursday with a 16-month jail sentence for falsely registering a woman who had never worked for him as a state-paid secretary and pocketing her wages.
The Nagoya District Court convicted Sato, 62, a former opposition Democratic Party of Japan member of the House of Representatives, of fraud.
It certainly seems that more LDP members whose crimes ACTUALLY get investigated even though they involve much greater amounts of money, get suspended sentences while opposition members in Japan are spared less mercy over much less serious crimes.
I suppose it is because of the governing LDP crime syndicate.
It will be interesting to see what happens to that LDP monkey, Suzuki Muneo and indeed former prime minister Hashimoto and Aoki.
