Graphic artist

Postby silverfall » Fri Sep 10, 2004 11:43 pm

I am looking for freelance work as a Graphic artist. Figured I would throw this up in case there was any interest. Experience as a technical illustrator in Los Angeles.

this may or may not be of help to you,
but if you have a portfolio, and can use proficiently the same apps in japanese enough to be tested, you might try looking into AQUENT.

They are a "HakkenGaisha" for the design field, as you may know them from the States (*As they are American Owned).

I would imagine that the Tokyo office might be a bit more promising than it would be here, but no Guarantees. Otherwise, hit the recruit Navi. But I can say, freelance is iffy when it comes to japan, and you have to be willing to work possibly on a very Downscaled pay. Watch out for shit with anything called "Mac Operator", as usually that means early 20 somethings shitwork for Print, like Chirashi layouts in something gay like a hodgepodge of AI/eps nightmares.

I work for web or print. I worked for a broadband training company as a Graphic artist/Technical Illustrator for a year. Now it's mostly bit work here and there as freelance since I came to Japan.

I'm not an L.A. Native but I'm just as crazy as you bastards and I can drive better in the rain! Hahah! Hoohoo! See.
