That is just plain wrong as it installs with the OS. I believe that there's a standalone installer at apple.com.

Oh I feel your pain. Nearly every week, Quicktime, Windows Media Player, and Real have a catfight over who is going to be my default application. Each one of those slimey players SECRETLY tries to overwrite the others. It's worse fake drama than the the WWF.

As Sparkle-sensei says, you'll have to download Quicktime (again?).
