Since all the discussion topics for PDA/CE software in particular are fairly old, I wanted to ask if there are any really good solutions for Japanese <> English translation that weren't previously discussed (Dokusha, for example).
Dokusha seems to be exactly the kind of software that I'm looking for (Kanji input recognition, *non*-romanized word display, straightforward ease of use), but are there any more advanced programs with those same features? From what I've heard, Dokusha's dictionary is extensive, but lacks advanced features like sentence usage, and has no room for expansion.
I'm already sold on the PDA/CE, because of the ability for easy upgrade and additional device capabilities. Are there more advanced programs? Do they run on WinCE or PALM? Basically, I'm looking for the most extensive option that must include kanji recognition and a really large amount of words. I'm not going with the wordtank option because I'm absolutely in love with the idea of being able to *write* kanji on the screen for recognition (all the wordtanks I've seen with this option are clunky and pale in comparison to a PDA/CE). Any recommendations that aren't completely byzantine and intended solely for japanese use? I'm looking to purchase the handheld device and willing to also pay for the software (Dokusha is free to start, but there must be better actual sales applications).. I'm able to spend up to about ~$275 USD in totality, but would obviously like to spend less. Based on older prices, that could probably purchase a very good option. Any ideas?
