true my profile isnt exactly overflowing withinfo, but then, youre probably the first to even check it out. So, while i appreciate your point, i still think that those who feel the need to introduce themselves, dont have to, because anyone who decides to take an interest can just read thier profile.

these idiot savants pay me to "teach" their small

Postby hodensaft » Tue Sep 21, 2004 1:09 pm

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, been in Chiba for about a month.

Cried when I paid 680 yen for my first pint in Asakusa. Felt marginally better a few weeks later when a history teacher filled my glass with shochu and topped it off with a little oolong tea for color.

OMG! That's el-CHEAPO for a pint of beer in Tokyo. Tell me where you went to get a cheap pint like that. Get ready for real sticker shock when you venture out of Asakusa and start paying 800-1000 yen for your pints. (Are you sure it was a pint and not a dai-joki at an izakaya?)

Ever since I spent a year in Sendai, I've wanted to go back. Trying to arrange that now, but there are some problems to get around (notably my desire to have a well thought-out plan for everything). I'm currently a Master's student in Civil Engineering, which thankfully will be over in the spring.

The interests include doing college radio, looking busy while reading several internet forums, and trying to avoid writing my thesis. For some odd reason, I like

Just introducing myself. I'm Kevin, living in Victoria Canada. I'm training to be another TESL zombie and planning to teach in Japan and be the biggest superstar bassist that J-ROCK has ever seen.

Who wants to befriend this future star?

Well, hello chiwawa - nice to meet you! I do not belong to the official welcoming committee of the Forum, I have only been here for a few weeks myself but I like it here very much. :D

Are you studying English for your job? English is not my native languange either, so unfortunately, I cannot correct you. I am still studying English very hard myself. I live in the USA and hope to (sometime in this life!) visit Japan.

Proper introductions, eh? Okay.

I'm MShades, I like in Kyoto, where I work for the Evil Empire of Eikaiwa. In my off time, I read, write and spend far too much time on this machine. I have made a vow not to move back to the United States until George W. Bush is out of office. I haven't paid one thin dime in taxes to that nest of vipers and I don't intend to.

Umm...

Other details will be released as they are discovered.

Thanks.

Changing of the guard.

It's S.O.P. in Japan...you have to expect all your gaijin friends to leave/flipout on a two-year cycle.

But hey, I'm a "new guy" according to Ultra.

Lurking is always fun until someone gets hurt.

Greetings! I've been here 10 years as of today so I guess that make you my senpai.

I am no longer a Fuct Gaijin becasue I have found Haruki Murakami. You have to love any contemporary Japanese writer that is as twisted Lynch and philosophical as Kafka. He also has the balls to acknowledge the Japanese atrocities of WWII.
