yeah they have another of that same kid putting things like wasabi in his eye somewhere in the video section of http://www.kontraband.com/ as well as some other humorous videos of random things. My personal favorite is "british kung fu" :D

What's up with that?

Postby canman » Sat Sep 25, 2004 12:13 pm

Are kids so bored now in North America they will do anything stupid. I know I'm sounding like an old fart, but that was just plain stupid. I haven;t seen the show Jackass, but figure it is full of stuff like that. And people wonder why it seems our society is going to the dogs.

well I agree with you, canman, in that I absolutely hate jackass and shows like it. Things like that video are entertaining every once in a while to a youngin' like me though hahah.

Why society is going to hell in a handbasket:

People can't afford insurance and healthcare. If they get sick, they're farked and there's nothing they can do about it.

Pollution is ruining the environment and hurting young children. The rate of ADHD and autism has spiked sharply as mercury and other toxins are pumped into the air we breathe and the water we drink.

Drugging the little kiddies has reached epic proportions. Kids are on prozac, ritalin, etc. This does not allow them to develop the maturity necessary to manage their emotions on their own, and makes them complacent, unable to clean up the ravaged world they will inherit.

Schools just pass kids along instead of holding them back. Make it easier to kick out the losers who don't want to be there. Certain schools also shield students from any real academic work.

Outsourcing is killing employment in the world except in countries where people are willing to work for very little money. When robots come along, the problem will be even worse.

Children watch too much television with far too many rapid cuts between scenes. Camerawork is now routinely shakey, which gives the image a drunken, unreal quality. Young viewers who grow up wathing these all the times deal with information overflow/overload by simply going into passive mode.

Good post I agree with a lot of what you said. But you look at these kids on the video, and all I can think is rich spoiled kids with nothing better to do. Completely pampered by their parents, with no responsibilities or any worries. So when it comes time to work hard etc. all the jobs have to be outsourced to Indai et al, because these kids can't do them.

Hey I used to know two Nova teachers here who used to play roman candle wars out in the central park, until one them was trying to reload in the roman candle ammo dump and his friend hit the dump with a flare resulting in second degree burn for the victim/idiot. :P
