Etsuko Kawasaki

Postby Marvin Feltcher » Sat Sep 25, 2004 2:32 pm

She works as an assistant professor at the Chiba Institute of Technology. The personnel dept. there can be reached at jinji@stf.it-chiba.ac.jp
If that fails, they can try Yumi Press, which has published some of her books.
Yumi Press
2-14 Suidocho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo (03) 5261-8470.

Well, shit, since that was so quickly answered...

I, too, need to locate two old friends that are brothers. They've both moved, and over a year ago so sending a letter and having it forwarded won't work. I won't post their full names here but of course I know them, including the correct kanji. They are in their 40s, and are huge blues fans. I've tried the usual web searches and had a friend whose in Yokohama try to locate a phone number but without the correct city (most likely somewhere in Tokyo but I don't know what ward), we are striking out.

What would you do? Are their Private Investigator firms one can hire? If so, how much would that cost me?

1. Well, an ISSN number would be really, really handy.
2. Ask Taro...whenever I reach the end of my abilities, I always contact him and he always manages to come up with something.
3. There are literally thousands of private detective agencies that will do this work, very few of them are reputable and all will charge an arm and a leg and expenses.
Other options:
1. Call what would have been their local post office and ask if they left a forwarding address. I am still getting mail redirected from an address I haven't used for four years.
2. Try your local kuyakusho/shiyakusho (if they are Japanese citizens). Apply for a family register in the name and address that you have...they may not have transferred their seki or juminhyo.
Steve knows the workings of things here better than anybody else I know. Perhaps he has some ideas.

Ask Les Coles, the blues reporter at the Yomuiri News.
les_coles@yahoo.com
Tokyo_Blues_Brothers@yahoo.com

He also runs the HUGE Tokyo Blues site at http://www.tokyo-blues.com/

Post a "blues fan" request here
