Have AA. Want J-Job; Possible?

Postby Greece2000 » Tue Sep 28, 2004 6:21 pm

My question is this. My wife is Jp. We plan to return to Japan in the next year. I will have my AA by the time we plan to leave. Since I will have a spousal visa things will be a bit easier. I plan to teach English since I am sure this is the only job I will be qualified for. What other skills should I master before going? A japanese course? or teaching English certificate. Also is anyone in Jp working just with an AA?

certainly lots of questions.

I have gotten visas for guys with AA's and the agency that helped said it didnt matter AA or BA.

EDIT: a guy

Dont be so sure that you are only qualified as an english teacher.
There is the whole gamut of opportunities and you short change yourself to start with that mindset.

SKILLS:
I must ask what is your aptitude.?
What were your hobbies and sports played in high school

I know a guy that is a dance/aerobics teacher.
He makes more or near to as much as I.

You could be a gaijin actor here. That would be the fastest way to get money.

You can work at a gym-- little japanese needed, etc

I wont even start to list them all because there is no end to the opportunities. You only have to be willing to shoot higher (and maybe wait it out).

Double dose of loserdom. First a question that's been asked and answered a billion fucking times already and then some dickhead bragging about how much money he makes. I hate that shit.

AK,

That question from Greece2000 was a legitimate question from someone new to the board...............

It doesn't matter how many times it's been asked, you are only discouraging members from posting (new or not).

Based on your posts here, I only see one loser.

He is right.
That does sound pretty stupid; as if I make tons of cash and was bragging about it. :?

What I really meant was he makes what I make and he only works about 4 hours a day.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I think AK has a good eye for BS.
Admonishing him for it only makes it worse. 8O

Don't be a Box Boy

Actually ol' Shanky's advice is sound. With or without a degree, an FG needs to think-outside-the-hako. Don't let yourself be a Box Man.Image

The AA degree is limiting, jobs will be fewer and crappier. However, we all have our handicaps and you gotta, "Make the Most of What You Got."

good advice: Skankster wrote:I have gotten visas for guys with AA's and the agency that helped said it didnt matter AA or BA.

From Greece2000's profile, we have;

Interests:
AO,CS,WH40K,BFV

Somehow I don't think he's going to be working in a gym or as a dance teacher :P

Ah...I am sorry.

Postby Greece2000 » Wed Sep 29, 2004 5:20 pm

Next time I will scour the forums before posting something that has already been bought up. I didn't mean to step on any toes, it won't happen again. I am very sorry Asskicker. Thanks for the advice. I will hold out until my BA it seems I should get all the help I should get before going to Japan. I guess the wife will have to wait :)

Thanks

Damn dude,,, did you just quit? Flipflop? or give up???

GMFB---

You can pursue your BA from an AA in tokyo at http://www.tuj.ac.jp
I reccomend it over being in bushland.

earning potential lowwwwwwwwww compared to being in Japan.

Like I said there are (should not be) no obstacles.
